Striving to Enhance the Quality of Life for Briards
The Atlantic States Briard Club was founded in 1975 by a group of approximately 20 Briard enthusiasts on the East Coast, initially known as the Yankee Briard Club. In 1979, the name was changed to the Atlantic States Briard Club, under which it was officially incorporated. Today, our club proudly comprises 100 members, all dedicated to the advancement and well-being of the Briard breed.
Our Mission and Activities
Our primary focus is the betterment of the Briard in all its facets. We share a deep passion for showing, herding, and training Briards, and we strive to enhance the health and quality of life of these magnificent dogs. Through health clinics and informative articles in our publication, Le Magazine, we aim to provide valuable resources to our members and the broader Briard community.
Collaboration and Community
As a member club of the Briard Club of America, we actively collaborate with breeders, exhibitors, and other Briard clubs to stay informed on all aspects of the breed. Our networking efforts ensure that we remain up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices in Briard care and training.
Events and Support
The Atlantic States Briard Club hosts a variety of events to support and celebrate the Briard breed. We conduct all-breed Canine Good Citizen (CGC) tests, matches, show handling, judges and training seminars, and bathing and grooming demonstrations. Each April, we proudly host the Briard Club of America Regional Specialty at the Harrisburg Kennel Club show.
Charitable Contributions
In accordance with our constitution, we support various animal-interest charities, such as the AKC Canine Health Foundation and the Morris Animal Foundation. Our commitment to these organizations underscores our dedication to the broader animal welfare community.
